and Enfora Brings a Streamlined Approval Process Increasing Customer Adoption

BASINGSTOKE, United Kingdom -- RFI Global Services and Enfora today announced the final type approval of Enfora's Enabler[TM] IIIG GSM/GPRS quad-band OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  module and commercial shipment in volume to large OEMs.

"Our third generation of the Enabler product line provides an industry leading smaller and lower cost platform for integration," says Jeff Newman, Enfora's chief strategy officer and senior VP of business development. "We architected the Enabler IIIG specifically for m2m applications which require highly reliable, Internet based communication protocols and network management functions to operate in an always-on connected state without human intervention."

The Enabler IIIG supports comprehensive voice and data features operating at 850/900/1800 and 1900 MHz in a compact footprint of 27.0mm x 28.0mm x 2.5mm. It incorporates Enfora's IP router into the GSM software layer that saves integrators the time, cost and complexity of designing products to be IP and network ready. Among the new features key additions include a TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end.  API and decreased network registration time.

"We are pleased to be working with Enfora as their first products come to market based on TI's "LoCosto" DRP (1) (Distribution and Replication Protocol) A W3C protocol for downloading only updated Web information (differential downloads). The Web site maintains an index of its files, including HTML pages, images and applications. [TM]-based single-chip cell phone technology," said Victor Epifani, TI's 2.5G business and marketing director. "Together we bring a cost-effective targeted platform to the mass-market that combines Enfora's unique integration and IP competency and TI's leading wireless silicon solutions."

Continuing to drive customer adoption in the industry, RFI and Enfora have teamed up to develop a process to streamline approvals and reduce the time and risk of integrators bringing products to market.

Richard Jacklin, head of RFI cellular explained, "At the heart of the relationship is our ability to bring Enfora's customers a streamlined approval process. We produce a 'guideline for integrators' that makes accessing any re-testing simpler, faster and lower cost. Integrators not from a traditional cellular background can focus on their expertise whether it is making telemetry, automotive or remote sensing type products vs. the approval process for communications."

The streamlined approval process can be utilized at RFI's labs in UK and Korea. The Enabler IIIG is fully certified to GCF gcf
