applications, today announced it has filed a patent application for a Bias Network for High Efficiency RF Linear Power Amplifiers.

This patent primarily relates to radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers used in linear systems. This invention is expected to enable higher levels of efficiency across the power band, which can specifically translate to significant improvements in the talk time for wireless handsets. Product families that will incorporate this patent-pending technology include power amplifiers for CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band. , GSM EDGE, W-CDMA See WCDMA.  and other linear systems.

"The ingenuity of our engineers and designers should be rewarded, and we believe that recognition of our novel products and innovative solutions by the patent offices from around the world helps to solidify our leadership position in wireless communications," said William Pratt, RFMD(TM) chairman and chief technical officer.
