With this regulatory approval, the DM1800 is now available to provide connectivity in wireless sensor network “WSN” redirects here. For the metasyntax, see Wirth syntax notation.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a wireless network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices using sensors to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as
applications in the United States and Europe.

"RF Monolithics' DM1800 module is an economical embedded solution for mesh networking applications of up to several hundred nodes," said Wayne Stargardt, Director of Marketing for RF Monolithics' Wireless Systems Group. "It incorporates several features that make it particularly easy to set up and operate a wireless mesh network. The DM1800 provides ultra-low-power operation while communicating up to 200 meters between nodes in a mesh network. We believe that the DM1800 module provides the best combination of price, coverage and low-power operation currently available in a commercial wireless mesh networking product. "The DM1800 was designed using our many years of experience with low-power wireless connectivity solutions. This design expertise, together with our years of guiding devices through regulatory approval around the world, helped us achieve certification with both agencies quickly and concurrently."

RF Monolithics announced the DM1800 module in November 2005, as the latest addition to its family of embedded wireless modules and shipped samples of the module in January 2006.
