Carlos Ramirez was riding in a car heading south on the Antelope Valley Freeway south of Avenue S about 9:15 p.m. Friday when someone in another vehicle shot at the car he was in. When the other people in the car realized Ramirez was hit, they turned the car around and drove him to the South Valley Medical Center on Palmdale Boulevard. He was pronounced dead there. Homicide detectives said the motive for the shooting was unknown. They asked anyone who was driving on the freeway at the time or who saw the car in which Ramirez was a passenger to call them.
