The abduction occurred just before 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at McAdams Park in Palmdale. A man approached the foster mother and demanded the baby, then got into a car with a woman and drove off. Deputies that evening arrested Jose Martinez, 37, of Palmdale on suspicion of child stealing. But they said he told them he gave the baby to Ayala. Ayala is described as Latina, about 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. She was last seen driving a black 2000 Chevrolet Silverado extended-cab pickup truck, license plate 7D92423.
