Sorensen, 46, a resident deputy for Lake Los Angeles, was shot to death Saturday afternoon by a large-caliber rifle after going to an isolated trailer home to follow up on a trespassing complaint, officials said.

Officials are describing Kueck as a witness rather than a suspect.
