REVVING UP SEASONAL SPIRIT; AUTO SHOW TO ASSIST TOY DRIVE.

Bob and Malinda Northcott will put their immaculate 1940 Ford Coupe Deluxe on display Saturday night for a good cause.

Completely restored, the auto classic is worth approximately $85,000.

``I spend too much money on it,'' Bob Northcott said, laughing. ``It's like having a beautiful woman that you spend way too much money on. But it's worth it. I meet a lot of nice people who love to talk about cars. My wife and I take long trips all over the west to car shows.''

The Northcotts' Ford will be among more than 100 classics, muscle cars and hot rods hot rod

Automobile rebuilt or modified for high speed, fast acceleration, or sporty appearance. A wide range of automobiles may be called hot rods, including some of those used in drag racing as well as those used in recreational cruising.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) is a local law enforcement agency that serves Los Angeles County, California.
 Toy Drive, which provides gifts for children from needy families or who are hospitalized with life-threatening illnesses.

``This not only gives them a chance to show off their restored vehicles and win a trophy, but they have a chance to serve a charity too,'' said Sonny son·ny

The charity receives event entry fees and raffle proceeds. While there is no admission charge for the general public, organizers hope they bring toys to donate to the Sheriff's Department toy drive.

The display will start 6 p.m. Saturday at the Autoplex at 23500 Valencia Blvd., on the corner of Cinema Drive.

Food will be available from several sources: Zeko's will be barbecuing outdoors, Boy Scouts will sell hot dogs, and several restaurants are within walking distance.

Previous car shows have raised $400 to $800 each. The October display benefited the American Red Cross American Red Cross: see Red Cross. ; the November display helped the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California.
