PALMDALE Palmdale, city (1990 pop. 68,842), Los Angeles co., S Calif., in the irrigated Antelope Valley; a growing residential suburb of Los Angeles near Little Rock Creek where it forms Lake Palmdale Reservoir, inc. 1962.  - A Harley-Davidson Harley-Davidson Motor Company (NYSE: HOG) is an American manufacturer of motorcycles based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. The city will provide 3.1 acres at the northeast corner of Carriage Way and Avenue Q to Ron Emard for $810,000. The land will be used for a satellite dealership of Emard's Harley-Davidson of Lancaster.

``What is happening here is the stimulation of more revenue,'' said Councilman Richard Loa.

The City Council approved the deal Monday night on a 4-0 vote, with Councilman Mike Dispenza absent.

The Palmdale dealership will cover between 12,000 and 15,000 square feet of sales floor space and there would be another 6,000-square-foot building for vehicle storage.

Additional amenities for the dealership could include areas for motorcycle club This article is about "American-style" motorcycle clubs (MCs) as a specific cultural phenomenon, not motorcycle riding clubs in the generic sense of the term.

The dealership could be up and running in about a year after all the necessary approvals are obtained. Emard said it is premature to discuss construction plans until those approvals are in hand.

In keeping with similar land transactions at the auto mall, the company will not actually pay for the property. Instead, the city would write off the $810,000 sales price through sales tax sales tax, levy on the sale of goods or services, generally calculated as a percentage of the selling price, and sometimes called a purchase tax.
