This well-balanced revue of three ensembles - children, teens and adults - offers many favorite holiday songs. Led by musical director and pianist Gary Poirot, the entire cast does a moving rendition of ``Give Me the World for Christmas,'' with the children and teens performing in sign language. There's a touch of 19th-century England with ``Here We Come A-Wassailing'' and a bit of nostalgia with the lively ``Sleigh Ride "Sleigh Ride" is a light orchestral piece written by Leroy Anderson on, ironically, a hot summer day in 1948; lyrics were written later by Mitchell Parish. The adult ensemble is composed of Kathryn Boring, Alan Glasband, Jan Glasband, Annie McGough, Tom Reinsel, Irene Silbert, John Smith and Christ Vasquez.

The Buenaventura Theatre Group, co-founded by Poirot and Annie McGough, has been organized for the past two years to bring musical revues to Ventura County venues. Members of the group are mostly local and there are several families participating in this Christmas show.

Poirot, an accomplished pianist with an extensive songwriting and musical revue background, has written and staged all the group's shows. During the past year, he wrote and produced ``Berlin Revue,'' which was mounted in the Simi Valley Cultural Center last spring. He also produced ``The Devil's Divas,'' a show featuring five sopranos singing operatic arias - some of them contemporary - mixed with comedic touches.

Poirot is creating another revue, ``Gershwin,'' for the group, scheduled for May next year at the Simi Valley Cultural Center.
