REVISED HOSPITAL PLAN UP FOR VOTE.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  -- A revised hospital expansion plan will go before the city Planning city planning, process of planning for the improvement of urban centers in order to provide healthy and safe living conditions, efficient transport and communication, adequate public facilities, and aesthetic surroundings.  Commission tonight for a vote.

The commission has gone back and forth with officials from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, coaxing changes in hopes of appeasing ap·pease

 neighbors of the Santa Clarita Valley's only hospital.

On the table is a plan to nearly triple the size of the medical center over 25 years.

Santa Clarita's planning staff See: central planning team.  is urging approval of the expansion -- if an economic report being prepared for the City Council demonstrates the need for the proposed expansion. If the study says otherwise, the hospital would be required to further scale back its plans.

The final decision on the expansion lies with the council.

The revised master plan includes a three-story height limit on buildings fronting McBean Parkway and elimination of a 90,000-square-foot medical building.
