REVCO NAMES SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

 TWINSBURG, Ohio, April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- D. Dwayne Hoven, president and chief operating officer of Revco D.S., Inc. (NYSE: RXR), announced the appointment of Douglas W. Coffey as senior vice president of human resources, effective April 19. He replaces Thomas E. Robinson, who resigned from the company in October 1992.
 Coffey will have full responsibility for all aspects of human resources for Revco's 1,180 drug stores, corporate and regional headquarters, and six distribution centers; his responsibilites will also include corporate and store services. He will be a member of Revco's executive committee, and will report directly to Hoven.
 Coffey, 52, comes to Revco from Burdine's Department Stores in Miami, Fla., a division of Federated Department Stores, where he has worked for 15 years. For the last five years, Coffey has been senior vice president of human resources and selling and customer services, responsible for 44 stores in Florida with over 14,000 employees.
 Additionally, Coffey worked for 13 years for May Department stores in Cleveland and Washington, D.C., where he was senior vice president of human resources. He began his business career with the Montgomery Ward Co.
 Hoven said, "Doug's entire career has been in retailing, and he brings many years of valuable experience to his new position. I know he will make an excellent addition to our executive team."
 A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Coffey holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota. Coffey sits on the retail advisory board at the University of Florida, the board of directors for the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the board of directors for Dade County Easter Seals, and is past chairman of the board for the American Red Cross in Dade County, Fla. He and his wife, Dori, have two grown children and are currently residents of Miami, Fla., pending relocation to northeastern Ohio.
 Revco operates approximately 1,180 retail drug stores in nine contiguous eastern states, filling more than 46 million prescriptions annually. Based in Twinsburg, Ohio, the company has annual sales of $2.1 billion.
