With an easy-to-use interface, Retriever allows users to connect to their desktop PC using a standard modem or cellular phone, and search and retrieve any file on the hard drive, not just pre-selected files. Users can view virtually any picture or text file format, including most popular image files. They can also modify retrieved files and store them back on their PC. In addition, handheld applications, documents and databases can be remotely installed. Retriever can even be used to monitor remote cameras, interfacing seamlessly with a PC-based home security system. Files downloaded to the handheld can be beamed to other handhelds or uploaded to other PCs. Files can also be e-mailed directly from the PC without downloading downloading - download to the handheld. Uploading or beaming to another machine requires that the other machine have Retriever installed.
