RESULTS OF UPS EUROPE BUSINESS MONITOR TO BE UNVEILED
The results of the UPS Europe Business Monitor, a comprehensive

comparative study among European business leaders, will be unveiled on Tuesday, April 28 in Brussels and transmitted via satellite to Dusseldorf, London, Madrid, Milan and Paris.
The Monitor, conducted by the European division of Louis Harris & Assoc., Inc., will provide insights of vital concern to U.S. businesses as they seek to adapt trade, marketing and facilities planning for the advent of the European Community (EC) "single market" on Jan. 1, 1993.
The opinions of 1,483 CEOs, CFOs and managing directors from the European Community's largest companies in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom are compared by country and collectively:
-- Which countries will benefit and which will be hurt? Which have the strongest and weakest growth potential?
-- What is the European consensus on future trade with the U.S. and Japan? Long-term export prospects to Eastern Europe?
-- Will there be a single European currency and central bank?
-- Do EC businesses favor more or less environmental legislation?
-- Can differing views on the basic aim of the EC be reconciled?
-- How will political tensions arising from protectionism and nationalism impact business?
The results of this first sampling will establish a benchmark against which market trends and forecasts can be measured. The UPS Europe Business Monitor will be conducted on a regular basis to show developing attitudes as trade barriers fall and the single market emerges.
