RESULTS OF TIME MIRROR MAGAZINES SURVEY ON THE ENVIRONMENT
The surprising results of a unique national survey -- on the perceived importance of natural resource environmental problems and the likely levels of public support for key domestic environmental issue solutions currently before Congress -- will be revealed at a news conference on Thursday, June 18 at Washington's National Press Club, 14th and F Streets, N.W., at 9 a.m. (light breakfast; news conference starts at 9:30 a.m.) in the main lounge (13th floor).
The nationally projectable study of 1,200 adult Americans was conducted by the Roper Organization on behalf of Times Mirror Magazines (TMM) National Environmental Forum, an educational program focusing on election-year domestic environmental issues.
Available at the news conference will be:
Burns W. "Bud" Roper, chairman of the Roper Organization.
Senator John H. Chafee (R-RI), environmental activist, ranking Republican on the Committee on Environment and Public Works.
Senator Timothy E. Wirth (D-CO), environmental activist, member of the Senate Democratic Energy Policy Task Force and chairman of the Alliance to Save Energy.
Francis P. Pandolfi, president & CEO of Times Mirror Magazines.
Dr. David B. Rockland, executive director of the TMM Conservation Council.
CONTACT: Linda Boff of TMM, 212-779-5222, or David Rockland of TMM Conservation Council, 202-467-4949, or Howard Greene of Greene Inc., 212-725-2660, for TMM.
