 MIAMI, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In a survey of over 3,500 minorities throughout America, the 1993 MSR Minority Market Report conducted by Miami-based Market Segment Research Inc. uncovers a wealth of information on the social, economic and political attitudes and behaviors of U.S. minorities.

 African-Americans, Hispanics (Mexicans, Puerto Ricans,
 Cubans, Central and South Americans), and Asians (Chinese,
 Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese)

 The seminar will reveal numerous findings such as:
 -- 51 percent of Hispanics, 39 percent of African-Americans and 13
 percent of Asians do not use financial institutions. Of those
 who do use financial institutions, 37 percent of Hispanics, 45
 percent of African-Americans and 82 percent of Asians have
 checking accounts.
 -- 45 percent of Hispanics, 65 percent of African-Americans and 72
 percent of Asians surveyed have medical insurance.
 -- 50 percent of Hispanics, 49 percent of African-Americans and 58
 percent of Asians feel they do not have sufficient knowledge
 about AIDS.
 -- 36 percent of Hispanics, 45 percent of African-Americans and 29
 percent of Asians feel that education is the most important
 social issue facing their community.
 -- 79 percent of both Hispanics and African-Americans, and 59
 percent of Asians have not flown on a domestic airline in the
 past year.
 -- 10 percent of Hispanics, 20 percent of African-Americans and 31
 percent of Asians own a personal computer.
 -- 29 percent of Hispanics and African-Americans, and 35 percent of
 Asians are aware of their cholesterol level.
 -- In Houston, 64 percent of Hispanics play the lottery and only 37
 percent play in San Francisco.
