Joyce's wife, also a teacher at Park View, told sheriff's deputies her husband made the threats Sept. 19 during an argument over his drinking and depression at their Quartz Hill home. Joyce, 44, told deputies that he threatened to kill his wife and no one else, and did not threaten to kill anyone at the school, according to the arrest report. Joyce said he wasn't serious about the threat, a report said. Joyce has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges of dissuading a witness and making terrorist threats.
