RESIDENTS URGED DONATE CANNED FOOD.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Residents across the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  are asked to leave a can of food or a bag of pasta at their mailboxes today for the U.S. Postal Service's national one-day food drive.

This is the 10th year letter carriers have collected nonperishable food donations from customers along their routes in a massive effort to feed the poor.

People who want to donate are asked to leave unopened food - cans, rice, beans, pasta, one-dish meals and other nonperishables - next to their mailboxes for letter carriers to collect when they deliver the mail.

The food will go to local food banks to help replenish re·plen·ish
