This is the 10th year letter carriers have collected nonperishable food donations from customers along their routes in a massive effort to feed the poor. People who want to donate are asked to leave unopened food - cans, rice, beans, pasta, one-dish meals and other nonperishables - next to their mailboxes for letter carriers to collect when they deliver the mail.
