RESIDENTS STUFF BUS FOR HAPPY HOLIDAYS.Byline: Amy Raisin Staff Writer SAUGUS - ``Take this bus and stuff it'' was the slogan for the first leg of a charity event Saturday, and stuff the people did - filling a city bus with donations of canned foods, blankets, toys and clothes for those in need. Sponsored by the city of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, and Albertson's market, the collection will benefit the Santa Clarita Food Pantry and the Association to Aid Victims of Domestic Violence during this holiday season. ``Last year, we got about 2,600 pounds (of donations),'' said Ron Kilcoyne, transportation manager for the city. ``Our goal is to double that this year, and spread it out over Thanksgiving and Christmas.'' A stuffed animal is toy animal stuffed with straw, beans, cotton or other similar materials. Some stuffed animals are very old – home made cloth dolls stuffed with straw go back to at least the ornaments for the crowd of children who donated food and other items. Alyssa Lapp, 12, said it is important for kids to remember how lucky they are, especially during the holidays. ``It's very important because it's a time of feasting, so when (people) don't have anything to feast on there's no holiday,'' she said. ``I think that everyone deserves something for Christmas because it's a time of giving.'' The Stuff-A-Bus will be on hand today for donations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 23449 Lyons Avenue before heading to 18571 Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Soledad Canyon contains the localities of Vincent, Acton, Ravenna, and Agua Dulce. Road from 2 to 5 p.m. The bus will make the rounds again on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9. Donations will be accepted both days from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 27631 Bouquet Canyon Road. From 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 8, the bus will be parked at 18571 Soledad Canyon Road.
