RESIDENTS DELAY SUSPECTS UNTIL DEPUTIES ARRIVE.

Sheriff's deputies responding to a vandalism The intentional and malicious destruction of or damage to the property of another.

The intentional destruction of property is popularly referred to as vandalism. It includes behavior such as breaking windows, slashing tires, spray painting a wall with graffiti, and

 and several CDs, deputies said.

``Neighbors tried to stop the four men from leaving until deputies got there,'' Sgt. Jeffrey Niccoli said. ``There was no physical violence, just their presence.''

The victim suffered several wounds to his neck, head, arms and back, but refused medical treatment.

Deputies believe the attack was in retaliation RETALIATION. The act by which a nation or individual treats another in the same manner that the latter has treated them. For example, if a nation should lay a very heavy tariff on American goods, the United States would be justified in return in laying heavy duties on the manufactures and  for a previous incident in which the victim is accused of vandalizing three cars belonging to the attackers.

``The suspects believe that the victim had some part in tagging their property so they went to tag his and just happen to find him home,'' Niccoli said.

Another vehicle was vandalized during the attack but the owner of the second vehicle had no relationship with the victim, according to according to

All four suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery, battery, possession of stolen property and vandalism. All of the men are out on bail awaiting arraignment A criminal proceeding at which the defendant is officially called before a court of competent jurisdiction, informed of the offense charged in the complaint, information, indictment, or other charging document, and asked to enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or as otherwise permitted .
