Woodland Hills is getting a new library, and residents are invited to attend a community meeting tonight to review five different plans and discuss what they would like to see included.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m at the library at 22200 Ventura Blvd.

The new building will be twice the size of the existing 6,000-square-foot library built in 1962, which will be demolished de·mol·ish

to make room for its replacement.

The new library will contain a 90-person capacity meeting room, the latest computer technology, separate reading spaces for adults, adolescents and children, and possibly an outdoor reading area. It also will be accessible to disabled residents and comply with the latest seismic codes.

Some things that are still up in the air include where to position the library on the property, how many parking spaces to include and whether to make the building one or two stories.

The style of the building will be discussed at a future meeting, probably within the next two months.
