Althea Gallat, an Acorn Street resident, was among those who got a three-sentence letter from Centex dated April 25 signed by Mike Gerald, project manager for land development at Centex Homes LA/Ventura Division. It said grading was about to begin, but tree-cutting wasn't mentioned.

``That's what the whole neighborhood is crying out for: information,'' Gallat said.
