GLENDALE - An earthquake-damaged reservoir located under a golf course must be dismantled dis·man·tle

 Lee, who took over as owner of the Chevy Chase Country Club a couple months ago, said patrons are allowed to walk over the reservoir as they play golf. Lee is waiting for a public meeting scheduled for Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week.  at the club, where city officials are slated to discuss the safety situation.

``I believe this construction will certainly affect the business of the golf course,'' Lee said. ``I don't feel good about it but this construction must go on for the city of Glendale.''

There will be enough water from the city's other nearby reservoirs to serve the residents of Chevy Chase Canyon during construction, Kavounas said.

Today, the City Council will consider whether to solicit proposals from companies for the design work for the renovation. The existing reservoir will need to be dismantled and replaced - a project estimated to cost $15 million to $20 million.

The council is not expected to vote on the project until early next year, and construction is expected to go until 2008.
