RESERVES' APPLICANTS WELCOME.

Men and women interested in becoming reserve deputies can attend a recruitment session at 10 a.m. Saturday Saturday: see week; Sabbath.  at the Lancaster sheriff's station, 501 W. Lancaster Blvd.

The session will last about two hours and will provide information about the program and preliminary paperwork for people interested in starting the application process.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 20 and 54, and must possess a high school diploma A high school diploma is a diploma awarded for the completion of high school. In the United States and Canada, it is considered the minimum education required for government jobs and higher education. An equivalent is the GED.  or equivalent, hold a valid driver's license Noun 1. driver's license - a license authorizing the bearer to drive a motor vehicle

, and be employed full time or be a full-time student Full-Time Student

A status that is important for determining dependency exemptions. An individual enrolled in a post-secondary institution may be eligible for certain tax breaks.

The full-time status is based on what the individual's school considers full time.

All applicants will be subject to a background investigation, physical testing and psychological screening.

The Antelope Valley
 serve in several different capacities including uniform patrol, search and rescue, and posse.

No reservations are required but all applicants must report to the station lobby before 10 a.m.
