Campers will soon be able to reserve sites at more than 60 state campgrounds in Washington and Oregon with a phone call.

The new service, Reservations Northwest, starts Tuesday. Call (800) 452-5687 to reserve a campsite.
The reservation fee is $6 per site, and campers pay that and the first night's campsite rent when making a reservation. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, and the center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. General parks information: (800) 233-0321.
