At 3 a.m., the Sheriff's Department began assembling search teams and deployed them at 5 a.m., Jenkins said. Officials designated a 10-square-mile area between Magic Mountain, the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Jenkins said this reportedly is not the first time Galarpe has run away from a theme park. As of late Friday afternoon, officials said they expected that the search would continue through the night.
