RESCUE GROUP OFFERS HORSES FOR ADOPTION.

Byline: Angie Valencia Staff Writer

MOORPARK - Ginger Crossfire A multi-GPU interface from ATI for connecting two ATI display adapters together for faster graphics rendering on one monitor. CrossFire machines require PCI Express slots, a CrossFire-enabled motherboard and, depending on which models are used, either a pair of ATI Radeon adapters or one , an 11-month-old filly adopted by Ludwina Kartio of Newbury Park this past week, is among the lucky ones.

The alternative for the filly - and hundreds of other young horses and the mares bred to produce urine for the hormone replacement drug Premarin - was the slaughterhouse slaughterhouse: see abattoir; meatpacking. .

``We're trying to save as many animals as possible,'' said rescuer Carilyn Simmons, manager at the Spirit Dancer Ranch in Moorpark, where Ginger Crossfire and 14 stablemates are up for adoption. ``I love these horses and they should all have a home.''

Today from noon to 4 p.m. is the final opportunity to purchase the 11- to 12-month-old horses at the ranch, 6397 Gabbert Road.

The Spirit Ranch orphans are part of a group of foals auctioned off in September to the United Pegasus Foundation, a nonprofit group that has been rescuing Premarin horses and their offspring since 1996.
