REPORTS EMERGE ABOUT SINATRA'S DECLINING HEALTH.

Frank Sinatra's representatives kept silent on the entertainer's condition Friday amid reports that the singer is suffering from worsening heart failure and pneumonia.

Sinatra spokeswoman Susan Reynolds refused comment on a KCBS-TV report that the 80-year-old entertainer is seriously ill A patient is seriously ill when his or her illness is of such severity that there is cause for immediate concern but there is no imminent danger to life. Both she and Cedars-Sinai spokesman Ron Wise said they had been asked by Sinatra not to release further information about his condition.

, citing unidentified sources, reported that Sinatra's private hospital suite had been turned into an intensive-care unit for treatment of heart failure and pneumonia, and the singer wants to go home against the advice of his doctors.

TV station KABC KABC Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children  said sources close to Sinatra's family reported that while the singer was initially admitted Nov. 1 for a pinched nerve, he was now being treated for a heart problem.

On Sunday, Reynolds said the singer, who turns 81 next month, was up and walking around his room. Friday, she said she was ``honoring (Sinatra's) request that there be no comment about his condition until he's discharged.''
