:RAEE.OB), the hazardous environment detection company, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to license and manufacture a range of radiation detection products from Polimaster, one of the world's foremost radiation detection and control companies. The agreement adds important functionality to RAE Systems' existing detection and sensor network A low-speed industrial network that is used to connect sensors to actuators. A sensor network implies limited or no controller functions. Multiple sensor networks may be coupled to form device networks. See industrial control network.  technologies and will provide first responders, military groups, and other government agencies another life critical tool to detect and assess hazardous environments.

"First responders and military organizations are routinely in harm's way harm's way

," said Bob Chen, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of RAE Systems. "As the threat of attacks using chemical or radiation sources grows, it's imperative that we equip our protectors with the tools that will enable them to assess and respond to life threatening environments." Continued Chen, "Our partnership with Polimaster represents a best-of-breed addition to our capabilities. Polimaster's technology was proven in real-world hazardous environments, protecting the clean-up workers at the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986."

Under terms of the deal, RAE Systems will produce a range of Polimaster products, from larger, highly sensitive site-specific portal devices to pager-sized personal sensors. Portal monitors detect radioactive and special nuclear materials in vehicles, pedestrians, baggage and luggage, and prevent illegal transportation of radioactive sources. They are used at vehicular, railway or pedestrian cross border points; weapons manufacturing and storage plants; nuclear waste disposal and storage sites; at the entrances to steel plants, post offices and airports, government offices, banks, and private companies. Portable sensors can be used both autonomously and after an alarm from a portal monitor. Portable devices detect and locate extremely small amounts of radioactive and special nuclear materials and are used by customs officers border guards, first responders and military groups.

"More than 200,000 radiation sources from the former Soviet Union are unaccounted for," said Polimaster Managing Director Alexander A. Antonovski. "The sheer number of these missing sources means that radiation exposure worldwide is a significant threat, whether by accident or by malicious intent."

"From customs officials and military groups to first responders, border patrols, government agencies and HAZMAT teams, the need for both personal and fixed network wireless radiation detection is growing rapidly, said Allan Frymire, CEO of TSA Systems. "All 4 products meet ITRAP ITRAP Illicit Trafficking Radiation Detection Assessment Program

Used to detect light pulses in optical fibers and other light-sensitive applications, it works the opposite of a  detection technology and advanced background referencing algorithm to minimize false alarms, along with a 800-1000 hour life using one AA alkaline battery to provide the most powerful protection available."
