REPEAT/Integrix Inc. Announces the IQstor Storage Family at NAB; The R1500 RAID and J1500 JBOD are the First Products to Debut.LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999-- Today at the National Association of Broadcasters tradeshow, Integrix Inc. unveiled its new IQstor(tm) storage product line. The IQstor(tm) line will support Single or Dual Loop Fibre Channel, Ultra Wide Differential SCSI See SCSI. , LVD See LVDS. LVD - Low Voltage Differential Ultra2 SCSI See Ultra SCSI. and Ethernet, as well as have SAN compatibility. Remaining true to the Integrix storage philosophy, the innovative design and system reliability make these products an excellent fit for any SAN enterprise. The J1500 JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) A group of hard disks in a computer that are not set up as any type of RAID configuration. They are just a bunch of disks. JBOD - Just a Bunch Of Disks is a reliable, flexible, affordable storage solution for today's demanding network environments. The J1500 combines the highest density per gigabyte of total storage capacity. The SAF-TE SAF-TE SCSI Access Fault-Tolerant Enclosure monitor board allows easy storage management, both locally and remotely. The system is available in both Ultra Wide Single-Ended SCSI SCSI in full Small Computer System Interface Once common standard for connecting peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, etc.) to small and medium-sized computers. SCSI has given way to faster standards, such as Firewire and USB. and LVD Ultra2 SCSI, with dual hot-swappable, redundant power supplies and is both platform independent and SAN compatible. Designed to protect any investment, the J1500 JBOD provides an easy upgrade path to the R1500 RAID. It's as simple as swapping out the SAF-TE monitor board for Integrix's proprietary RAID controller A disk controller card that supports one or more RAID configurations. Originally only for SCSI drives, RAID controllers have become very popular for PATA and SATA drives. See RAID. board. The R1500 RAID comes with the same features and drive capacities as the J1500, but offers a unique advantage -- Fibre Channel capability. Available with Single or Dual Loop Fibre Channel as well as Ultra Wide Differential SCSI, LVD Ultra2 SCSI or Ethernet, the R1500 comes equipped with a JAVA-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface. for easy network management. In addition, as customers' needs change, this system provides a similar upgrade path to the R2000, Integrix's 12-drive RAID system, which will be available at the end of June 1999. Both systems are available in either a 3U desktop, deskside or rackmount form factors. From database management to multiple configurations or video archive applications, the IQstor(tm) storage systems provide the flexibility of a customized storage solution that will meet and exceed a customer's unique network requirements. "Integrix's core competencies center around its proprietary RAID technology, and its expertise in the SPARC (Scalable Performance ARChitecture) A family of RISC CPUs from Sun that runs mostly under Sun's Solaris, but also under Linux and BSD operating systems. After development began in the mid-1980s by David Patterson of the University of California at Berkeley and Bill (r) and UltraSPARC(r) server markets," said Jason Lo, president and co-founder of Integrix. "Today's businesses must protect their mission-critical data with reliable storage solutions, and our new IQStor(tm) storage line does just that. We are offering a Fibre Channel storage solution, with cross-platform functionality, and the quality and reliability that has become synonymous with the Integrix name." Founded in 1990, Integrix designs and manufactures the IQstor(tm) family of RAID and JBOD storage systems, including RAID controllers and arrays for network servers, mini computers and high-performance workstations. The company also manufactures a full line of SPARC(r) and UltraSPARC(r) rackmount servers and workstations, as well as PCI (1) (Payment Card Industry) See PCI DSS. (2) (Peripheral Component Interconnect) The most widely used I/O bus (peripheral bus). and SCSI adapters, and a complete line of peripherals. With headquarters in Newbury Park, Calif., Integrix provides scalable, configurable, upgradable products that offer the high-caliber performance required for today's marketplace. The company's products are sold worldwide through a network of VARs, OEMs and resellers. Note to Editors: Both the IQstor(tm) J1500 and R1500 storage systems can be seen at Booth No. S2175 at the Sands Convention Center. All information will be available in the Press Room, at the booth and via the Virtual Press Office. |
