Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) and Fujitsu Limited today announced the general availability of the Japanese version of Jasmine. Developed jointly by CA and Fujitsu, Jasmine is the first pure object solution for building next-generation business systems over the Internet and client/server computing environments. Jasmine also offers developers an object-oriented platform ideally suited for dynamic multimedia applications while delivering the integrity and practical data management required for mainstream business solutions.

Jasmine is the only solution of its kind that employs double-byte coding -- a technology which dedicates two bytes of memory to certain characters -- enabling it to accommodate the large number of characters in the Japanese language.
