OAKVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 2002

R. Michael Mondavi, Chairman of Robert Mondavi (Nasdaq:MOND MOND Modified Newtonian Dynamics (missing dark matter theory) ), announced today the appointment of Adrian Bellamy to the company's Board of Directors. Bellamy, who has more than three decades of experience in executive management in specialty retailing, also serves on the boards of The Body Shop International PLC, The Gap, Inc., Gucci Group N.V., Reckitt Benckiser PLC and Williams-Sonoma, Inc.

Bellamy, born in England and raised in the former Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), began his career in retailing in the late 1960's with the Southern Africa apparel and home furnishings chain Edgars Stores Limited. He was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of the company in 1977 and held that post until 1983 when he moved to the United States to become chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
