Telaxis Communications Corporation, a leading provider of broadband wireless See wireless broadband.  access equipment used by network service providers worldwide, responded enthusiastically to the announcement that Newbridge Networks Newbridge Networks was an Ottawa, Ontario, Canada company founded by Canadian/Welsh entrepreneur Terry Matthews. It was founded in 1986 to create data and voice networking products after Matthews was forced out of his original company Mitel.  Corporation will be acquired by Alcatel. Newbridge is a significant customer of Telaxis.

To date, our products have been designed into the network architectures for most of Newbridge's existing broadband wireless access customers and we have been rapidly increasing production to satisfy existing orders."
