REPEAT/ Sanders Delivers Common Missile Warning System Hardware for U.K. WAH-64 Apache Helicopters.

Sanders is under contract to provide CMWS CMWS Common Missile Warning System  sets for the self-protection suite designed to protect the new British Army helicopters against advanced heat-seeking and radio-frequency guided missile threats. The sensor system will be part of the Marconi Helicopter Integrated Defensive Aids System Defensive Aids System (DAS) is a military aircraft system which defends an aeroplane from attack by surface-to-air missiles, air-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery.  (HIDAS) on the U.K. WAH-64 Apache being built by British Helicopter manufacturer GKN GKN Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds (British global engineering company)

The CMWS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) was shipped on October 1 to the GMAv System Integration Rig in Stanmore, England, for integration and testing. The ECU is the key component of CMWS, processing threat data from the system's four electro-optical sensors on the helicopter. Under its contract with GMAv, Sanders will provide 58 CMWS sets, spares, data and logistics support. The first production unit is scheduled for delivery in December 2000.
