REP EVENING TO INCLUDE 'WALK THROUGH ROMANCE'.

NEWHALL - Billed as ``a theatrical walk through romance,'' the ninth annual Evening With the Rep will offer guests an intimate night of theater, dining and entertainment with scenes from four contemporary plays performed throughout the evening.

Held in the Sand Canyon home of R.J. and Patty Kelly, the Santa Clarita Repertory Theatre fund-raiser will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 with an elegant petite buffet, music performed by classical guitarist Lance Allyn, and a Shakespearean monologue presented by new producing artistic director Craig Duswalt.

Duswalt would not reveal the scenes that will be performed, saying only that they are from well-known authors and, in keeping with Valentine's Day, the general theme will be love - love lost, love found and maybe even love somewhere in between.

Guests will see each scene in its entirety as they move throughout the house to the master bedroom, family room, living room and billiard room.

``The evening will end with me doing another monologue from Shakespeare, and then people will be served dessert while they talk about the wonderful scenes they have just witnessed,'' Duswalt said.

Proceeds from Evening With the Rep will benefit the Repertory Theatre's 2001 season and its award-winning Educational Outreach Program, which brings children's plays, workshops and apprentice programs to Santa Clarita Valley elementary and senior high schools.

Duswalt looks forward to the beginning of his first season with the Repertory Theatre with the opening of Neil Simon's ``Rumors'' on March 2. Shows will run at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays through March 24.
