RENO AIR ANNOUNCES SAN JOSE AND FREQUENT FLYER PROGRAM

RENO, Nev., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Nevada-based Reno Air Inc. (NASDAQ: RENO (common stock), RENOU (units), RENOW (warrants)) and American Airlines announced today they have reached an agreement in principle which will allow Reno Air to sub-lease gates at American's San Jose, Calif., terminal, and participate in American's AAdvantage frequent flyer program.
The agreement in principle will initially include the subleasing of at least two American gates in San Jose by Reno Air and may cover as many as seven gates. The agreement is subject to the negotiation of definitive documentation, which the carriers hope to complete soon.
"Reno Air's growth into the San Jose market will significantly enhance our capabilities and will expand our proven niche of providing full service at low fares in the Western region," said Jeff Erickson, president and chief executive officer of Reno Air. "It will also provide an important benefit for our customers in the form of American's AAdvantage frequent flyer program."
Reno Air's current West Coast destinations served from its hub at Reno/Tahoe are Portland, Ore., Seattle, San Francisco, Ontario, Calif., Los Angeles (LAX) and San Diego. The carrier, which started commercial passenger service last July, operates eight 140-seat (20 first class) McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series jets, and is scheduled to place two more MD-80s in service within the next 30 days.
