RENEWED INTEREST SPARKS SALES OF INTERACTIVE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES' IMTX
 8000(R)
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Recent sales of the IMTX 8000 media integrator show renewed interest in the product. Interactive Media Technologies Inc. (IMT) announced today that recent sales of the IMTX 8000 have demonstrated its value as a solution for challenges facing people who solve video and multimedia presentation problems.
Turner Broadcast Systems in Atlanta has incorporated the IMTX 8000 as a controller for a complex video wall installation at its headquarters. Grand Ol' Opry recently opened the Grand Ol' Opry Museum in which IMTX 8000 units control an interactive information kiosk in the museum and a video karaoke (sing-along) attraction.
The National Film Board of Canada has installed a media review system which allows people to access the country's film archive at a number of stations. Six interconnected IMTX 8000 units drive a bank of Pioneer laserdisc players which are served by a robot. The system is coordinated to provide touch-screen access from any one of the viewing stations to any selected segment of the media archive -- on demand.
Other recent installations of the IMTX 8000 media integrators include education and presentation applications.
"As IMT readies the launch of its next product, we are greatly encouraged that people are recognizing the merit of the IMTX 8000," said its president Allan Ayars. The company had filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and has pursued its reorganization since March 1992. Along with the restructuring tasks, the company has developed what it believes is a promising new product strategy which is soon to be unveiled.
IMT is seeking debtor-in-possession financing in order to conduct its product launch and complete its reorganization.
