RENAISSANCE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES MERGER

 BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Renaissance Entertainment Corp. (OTC: RNEN) today announced its plans to merge with the Northern and Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faires. The proposed merger will see annual revenues for Renaissance Entertainment increase from approximately $2,000,000 to approximately $9,000,000. The Living History Centre, a California educational and cultural corporation which has owned and operated the California Renaissance Pleasure Faires for the past 25 years, will continue to sponsor the event and present its educational programs.
 The boards of directors of Renaissance Entertainment Corp. and The Living History Centre are working toward completion of a definitive agreement, the closing of which is subject to numerous conditions, including necessary regulatory approval.
 "We are very excited to be kicking off our expansion program," stated Pete Leavell, chief executive officer, "and teaming up with the California Renaissance Pleasure Faires is a major achievement toward this objective. We are actively engaged in discussions with other Faire owners, and hope to be successful."
 The Living History Centre originated the Renaissance Faire concept in 1963. Renaissance Faires are outdoor events that recreate the ambience of a Renaissance village with craft shops, food vendors, and continuous entertainment throughout the day, both on street and stage. The entertainment includes dancers, jousters, musicians and characters from Elizabethan England. There are approximately 20 large Renaissance Faires located in or near major metropolitan areas throughout the United States.
