MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BW SportsWire)--Nov. 11, 2000

The i2 Foundation today announced that it will sponsor a 5K and 10K run/walk race in Shoreline Park, Mountain View Shoreline Park is a park in Mountain View, California, USA. It was originally a landfill for San Francisco garbage. After the landfill closed in 1998[1], it was turned into a city park, with a golf course and an artificial lake. , Calif., on Saturday Saturday: see week; Sabbath. , Nov. 11, 2000 at 9:00 a.m.

Proceeds from corporate sponsorships, personal donations, and entry fees for the race will go towards global charity programs promoting advancements in education, technology, environmental practices, medicine and economic opportunity.

The registration cost for the West Coast Run for a Better World is $25 before November November: see month.  1 and $35 after November 1, and on race day. Race day registration opens at the course at 8:00 a.m. Cash awards will be granted to first, second, and third place male and female winners of the 5K and 10K, and additional prizes will be awarded for age group winners. West Coast "Run for a Better World" Details

The race will take place on a flat, scenic course through Shoreline Park Shoreline Park can refer to:
  • Shoreline Park, an unincorporated community in the state of Mississippi
Several public parks are also named Shoreline:
  • Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara, California
  • Shoreline Park
. The Park is located on Shoreline Boulevard, North off of Highway 101 in Mountain View, Calif. Strollers are welcome on the 5K course path, and there will be children's activities throughout the morning on the course grounds. The 5K is expected to begin at 9:00, followed by the 10K start at 9:15. The awards ceremony is expected to start by 11:00 a.m.

Kerala, India

-- Hospital for Sick Children Foundation to fund a mission to Vietnam

-- STAR Network of World Learning for low income/abused women in Serbia and
Kosovo

-- World Vision for the Kagera AIDS/HIV orphan project in Tanzania

-- Institute for Math and Science Teaching in South Africa
