WHO: Six pachyderm stars of The Greatest Show On Earth including Bo, "the
world's smartest elephant" and his partner in panache - Bello Nock; rousing
Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson; the body-bending, mind blowing contortion of
the one and only Sapo; head turning hand balancing; the comedic capers of Clown
Alley and the dazzling Ringling Bros. dancers. WHAT: For 131 years, the return
of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus to New York has always been a sure
sign of Spring. To celebrate the time of year when New York City is in full
bloom once again, The Greatest Show On Earth is hosting a special "Salute To
Spring" in Grand Army Plaza, at the edge of Central Park. A procession of
pachyderms will promenade from Madison Square Garden up Eighth Avenue to Grand
Army Plaza where they will kick off this special presentation of international
circus talent! WHEN: FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 2001 (a)Elephants will depart Madison
Square Garden at 1:30 PM (a)Performance at Grand Army Plaza begins at 2:30 PM
