As wine gets better over time, so does the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival, as the event enters its ninth year.

The Wine

Premier Beverage will be pouring select wine vintages from around the world. This is an opportunity to taste some of this year's best wines and make some new discoveries.

The Food

More than 20 of South Florida's noteworthy dining destinations will be dishing some of their signature items.

The Wine and Food Judges

Andrew Lampasone - Owner of The Wine Watch www.winewatch.com will be judging the wines and awarding Best Red, Best White and Best Newcomer

Deborah Hartz - Food Editor of the Sun-Sentinel www.sun-sentinel.com will tour the festival tasting selections from each restaurant and establishing top picks.

Las Olas Boulevard Las Olas Boulevard is a popular thoroughfare located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States. Commerce includes bars, nightclubs, bridal stores, trendy shops, chic boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and hotels. It is referred to as the Rodeo Drive of Fort Lauderdale.  will be closed so that patrons can enjoy the splendid offerings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Advanced admission for the event is only $50 per person and $60 the week of the festival.

There is also an opportunity to attend the VIP Reception to be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the festival at The Riverside Hotel Riverside Hotel is a name used by several hotels including:

 located at 620 East Las Olas Boulevard. Marc Buoniconti, Developmental Advisor for the International Bronchitis Center and Ambassador for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis is a research center dedicated to research in the field of paralysis and spinal cord injury, with the eventual object of finding a cure for paralyzing injuries. Based at the Leonard M. , is the honorary chairman of the event and will welcome guests at the reception. A $100 donation includes an exquisite variety of wines (sponsored by Dr. Herbert Moselle), superb hors d'oeuvres, gifts and admission to the street party immediately following.

This fundraiser is designed to increase awareness and promote asthma research in the South Florida community. Approximately 75,000 South Florida children have asthma. The Las Olas Wine & Food Festival will benefit these children and the other more than 26 million Americans afflicted af·flict
