Lottery lottery, scheme for distributing prizes by lot or other method of chance selection to persons who have paid for the opportunity to win. The term is not applicable when lots are drawn without payment by the interested parties to determine some matter, e.g.
WHAT: Together with PETCO stores, the California Lottery wants to
know if you have one of California's "Top Dogs." The Lottery
is developing a new series of Scratchers tickets featuring
California's "Top Dogs." The Lottery will be travelling across
the state and holding contests to select the "Top Dogs" to be
featured on these Scratchers in 2003.
Los Angeles-area residents are invited to bring their dogs to
their local contest this Saturday to see if their dog has what
it takes to be on the California Lottery's next series of
Scratchers tickets.
WHEN: Oct. 26, 2002
12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
(Registration will close at 2:00 p.m. sharp)
Gift bags will be handed out to the first 100 contestants --
limit one gift bag per dog.
