REMINDER...for Sun. (June June: see month.  22)

What:       With its black "A-Team"-themed vessel called Paddlin'
            Fool, Drexel's team will put oars to the lake at Franklin
            D. Roosevelt Park on Sunday to capture the 16th ASCE/MBT
            Concrete Canoe National Championship. Drexel is hosting
            the competition.

            Hundreds of Drexel alumni, the dragon mascot and
            University President Constantine Papadakis will be on hand
            cheering on Drexel's A-Team paddlers: Corey Barber,
            Veronica Ebersole, Justin Meillier, Michelle Nenna, Kevin
            Quan, Lori Tappin and Matt Walicki.

            In all, more than 240 students from 24 of the nation's top
            engineering schools will be competing in slalom,
            endurance, men's, women's and co-ed sprint races. At stake
            are the team national championship and $9,000 in
            scholarship prizes from Master Builders Inc.

When:       Sunday, June 22 (RAIN OR SHINE)

            --  8 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Distance and qualifying sprint races

            --  1 - 3:30 p.m.: Grand and petite sprint finals

Where:      The lake at Franklin D. Roosevelt Park (1615 Pattison
            Avenue)

Background: Drexel has competed in the nationals for six straight
            years and seven overall ... Drexel's best finish was
            eighth in 1999 paddling the Broad Street Bully.

Teams:      Boise State, Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, Cal - Berkeley,
            Clemson, Colorado School of Mines, Drexel, Florida Tech,
            Iowa State, Kentucky, Lamar, Louisiana State, Maryland,
            Michigan Tech, Milwaukee School of Engineering, New Mexico
            State, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Rhode Island,
            Rochester Institute of Technology, Rowan, Universite
            Laval, Virginia Tech, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin -
            Madison.
