) is hosting a reception for current and prospective members on Thursday, April 24 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Eaton Corporation, 1111 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.

As part of the Chapter's commitment to attract and retain members of the public relations community, the Multicultural Committee spearheaded this event to support its objectives within PRSA, which include supporting the leaders of the Chapter in building an organization that is inviting and inclusive for all members of the local public relations community, according to Montrie Rucker Adams, APR APR

, co-chair of PRSA's Multicultural Committee and Director of Publications for the Cleveland Municipal School District. The group also aims to attract and involve professionals of diverse backgrounds with regard to age, gender, race, sexuality, religious preference, physical abilities, and other dimensions of difference.

The featured speaker for the evening will be Rodney Jenkins, who formerly held the position of Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Office of the Mayor. Although he has moved on from the Mayor's cabinet, he will speak on `Public Relations in City Government and Maintaining Cultural Diversity.'

Prior to joining the Campbell campaign, Jenkins was the Director of Communications Director of Communications is a position in the private and public sectors. The Director of Communications is responsible for managing and directing an organization's internal and external communications.  for Cleveland City Council Cleveland City Council is the legislative branch of the government of the City of Cleveland in Ohio. Its members are elected from 21 wards to four-year terms. The number of council members has decreased over the years.  where he managed all internal and external communication for the 21-member council. He has served on many boards and is currently an active member of the Board of Governors of the Club at Key Center and the Minority Arts and Education Fund board.

"A variety of committee chairpersons will also be on-hand to provide details on how to get involved, as well as showcase the variety of programs available to members.
