What: At its CeBIT booth, Network Appliance will demonstrate an
enterprise computing scenario with a data center and two remote
offices outfitted with the latest storage and content delivery
solutions.
Also at the show, Network Appliance will hold a press conference.
Ray Villeneuve, vice president of Strategic Marketing at Network
Appliance, will brief international press about Network
Appliance's strategy and will present the company's latest
developments. The press conference will be held on March 13, from
12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Convention Center, room 108-110.
Representatives from Network Appliance including Rich Clifton,
vice president of commercial solutions marketing, Ian Henderson,
vice president of Europe, and Andreas Konig, vice president of
Central Europe, will also be available at CeBIT for media
interviews.
The data center will be represented by a NetApp(R) F880c filer
cluster. On the application side, IBM(R) DB2(R) EEE and
mySAP.com(TM) will be part of the scenario. The powerful DAFS
(Direct Access File System) protocol will be deployed over
InfiniBand to optimize these enterprise applications. The data
center is connected via a POP to two remote offices, which are
represented by a workgroup F87 filer, and a workgroup NetCache(R)
system. The POP includes another NetCache system as well as the
NetApp software solutions DataFabric(TM) Manager,
ContentReporter(TM), and Content Director(TM). A highlight of the
installation is the NetApp backup and restore solution
NearStore(TM) which will be presented for the first time in
Europe.
