PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 26, 2003

WHAT: The first day of a weeklong decorating frenzy leading up to
the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1. More than 250
Auto Club members will be putting in long hours -- between
          8 a.m. and 11 p.m. -- finishing off the Auto Club's "Wild
Vacation" float with a variety of fresh and dried flowers,
seeds, spices, food and bark. "Wild Vacation" depicts the
ultimate jungle safari teeming with wildlife such as
giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, zebras, and birds. Looming
over all of them is the King of the Jungle, the gigantic
head of a lion. Exotic vegetation and waterfalls dot the
landscape of the 50-foot-long float, with trees reaching 25
          feet high.

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 26, from 8 a.m. -- 11 p.m. Decorating continues
          from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day through Dec. 30.

WHERE: Rosemont Pavilion (adjacent to the Rose Bowl), 700 Seco St.,
          Pasadena.

WHY: The Auto Club, the largest affiliate club of AAA, has
participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade for more than
85 years through assistance with towing cars and floats. For
the past 11 years, the Auto Club has sponsored a float in
          the parade.

More than 2,000 Auto Club members sign up each year to
decorate the float, and the Auto Club provides so many
decorating volunteers that they are frequently used to help
adorn other floats designed by Phoenix Decorating Co. It's
an annual bonding experience for many "regular" volunteers
who come each year and some who even come for every day of
          decorating.
