Business Editors/Health/Medical Writers/High-Tech Writers

REMINDER...for Monday-Wednesday (April 7-9)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: In his opening-day keynote, David Tennenhouse, vice
president, Corporate Technology Group and director of
research, Intel Corporation, will discuss the next
generation of emerging and "disruptive" technologies to
enable a future of proactive computing where networked
computers anticipate our needs and sometimes take actions
on our behalf. Speaking on the theme, "Exploring
Disruptive Technologies through Proactive Computing," he
will describe the demographic, economic and technological
trends that suggest that home health and wellness
solutions are likely to be an enormous opportunity and
            challenge for proactive computing technologies.
Eric Dishman, manager of Intel's proactive health research
project, will discuss how Intel social scientists are
conducting ethnographic studies of elder and boomer
households to identify the most promising areas for home
health technology development. He will describe the
building and testing of context-aware, home sensor network
systems to determine their efficacy in helping people
maintain their independence, prevent disease and increase
quality of life. By leading cross-industry and
cross-university initiatives with such groups as the
American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
(AAHSA), Eric will discuss Intel's work to catalyze an
ecosystem of research to bring technology development to
            aging services.
Following their keynotes, Tennenhouse and Dishman will
join Larry Minnix, AAHSA president and CEO, Russell
Bodoff, executive director of AAHSA's Center for Aging
Services Technologies and Philippe Fauchet, director of
the Center for Future Health, University of Rochester, for
a press question and answer session on the future of
            technology and aging services.
