WHAT:           The Authority Board will discuss the potential impacts
                of the state's budget proposal to shift the
                Authority's budget and staff to Caltrans. This meeting
                will also include presentations from representatives
                of the French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish
                high-speed train systems as well as presentations on
                new high-speed rail networks under construction in
                Korea and Taiwan.
                The meeting also offers the public an opportunity to
                comment on a future statewide 700-mile high-speed
                train system capable of sustaining a speed over
                200-miles-per-hour.

VISUALS:        Presentations on systems around the world will include
                dynamic graphics.
