WHAT: Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing
for Emulex Corp., is participating in two panel discussions at
the Fibre Channel Technologies Conference (FCTC), Oct. 16-18,
2001, at The Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, Calif. Smith will
speak on "The Role of the Host Bus Adapter (HBA) within a
Storage Area Network (SAN)" as part of a multi-vendor session
starting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. Smith will also be
among the panelists speaking about the "Future of Fibre
Channel" which begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Emulex is exhibiting at FCTC in booth 101, where the company
will demonstrate multiple generations of its HBAs to showcase
a single driver interface, which eases the complexities of
SAN management and enables seamless migration to next
generation HBAs. The Emulex LightPulse LP9002L is designed
for "thin" servers (1u and 2u heights) and its features
include large buffer-to-buffer credits, enabling the HBA to
maintain throughput at distances of up to 20km; and backward
compatibility with existing 1Gb/s storage networking
solutions.
