SPEAKER:   Dr. Ken Kennedy is recognized nationally for his
           significant contributions to the field of computer science
           and has been a faculty member at Rice University since
           1971. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rice in Mathematical
           Science and a PhD from New York University in Computer
           Science. Dr. Kennedy is the Ann and John Doerr Professor in
           Computational Engineering at Rice University's Computer
           Science Department. In addition, he is the director of
           HiPerSoft, a Center for High Performance Software Research
           headquartered at Rice University, and co-chair of PITAC,
           the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee.
