WHAT:   Dr. Kuangyi Wu from Chorum Technologies in Richardson,
        Texas, will present a white paper entitled, Polarization
        Effects and Applications in FibreOptics, for the Optical
        Components Forum: Empowering Next-Generation Optical Networks,
        in London. The event, sponsored by Marcus Evans, is scheduled
        for Sept. 10-12, 2001, and is designed to provide attendees
        with the knowledge and experience of the most innovative
        optical component manufacturers in Europe and the United

WHO:    Dr. Kuangyi Wu is the second cofounder and vice president of
        technology development for Chorum Technologies. Dr. Wu
        received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the
        University of Colorado. His doctoral work was focused on
        acousto-optic cross-connect switches and their effects on
        integrated optics structures.
